Alberta North Central Alliance

About the Alberta North Central Alliance

The Alberta North Central Alliance (ANCA) in Slave Lake is a regional alliance formed to foster strong, enduring, and transparent intergovernmental relationships. It represents a commitment between five municipalities and four First Nations to build relationships that benefit all peoples of the North Central Region. ANCA serves over 40,000 people across 10 communities, including over 5,000 on reserve land, with a total land area of approximately 55,000 km². The alliance focuses on identifying and acting upon shared benefits across the region, promoting cooperation, collaboration, coordination, and communication. ANCA's goals include building a local supply chain and workforce, enhancing services to vulnerable populations, and addressing key regional interests with a unified voice. The alliance's commitment to truth and reconciliation, and to becoming treaty partners, is a significant aspect of its operations.
