The Slave Lake RCMP is turning to the public to seek input on upcoming activities and priorities. In an effort to better serve the citizens of Slave Lake, the local detachment would like to hear from residents about their concerns and input on what is going well. Would you like to see a greater presence of police in the Allarie Trails? Perhaps more traffic enforcement? Are theft and vagrancy priority issues to you? This is your opportunity to express your ideas to the local RCMP.
"We had hoped to host a community forum to have direct face-to-face contact with the citizens we serve. However, with the current restrictions due to COVID-19 we have decided to engage with the community electronically" says Staff Sergeant John Spaans of the Slave Lake RCMP.
Between June 5 and June 20, citizens of Slave Lake and the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River can provide feedback to the RCMP by sending an email to KSlaveLake-KSlaveLake@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
Results will be reviewed and, where feasible, ideas will be implemented in the detachment’s plans for the next several months. It is important to note, that any reports of crime or a need for police assistance must still go through the non-emergency line (780-849-3045) or 911 in the event of an emergency.
