The Town of Slave Lake is looking for Expressions of Interest from interested contractors to conduct demolition and clean-up of an Old Daycare Building in Slave Lake, Alberta.
The Town of Slave Lake (here-in after called the Town) is requesting an expression of interest for the demolition and clean-up of an Old Daycare Building. The subject property is located at 401 - 6 Avenue SW, Slave Lake, Alberta.
The building was constructed in 1967, primarily from cinderblock materials. It has had various uses, most recently it was used as a daycare, until 2016. The building has been unoccupied since that time.
A Hazardous Materials Assessment was completed in 2016. In summary, the assessment found samples containing asbestos, lead based paint, and other contaminants were found in the building. An amount of visible mould is also identified in the building.
The successful Vendor will supply all personnel, materials, tools, equipment, and will be responsible for all aspects of demolition and clean-up of the site.
At this time, the Expression of Interest is to inform the 2020 Capital Budget. The project would proceed upon budget approval in 2020.
