PUBLIC HEARING
November 15, 2022 @ 7:00 P.M.
IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS
Town Council is giving consideration to amending Land Use Bylaw #22-2007.
The amending bylaw (i.e., Bylaw #13-2022) proposes amendments to Section 3 of the Land Use Bylaw #22-2007 by amending the definition for “Livestock” and adding a new definition for “Low Intensity Farming Operation (i.e., Hobby Farm)”. The amending bylaw also adds “Agricultural Operation” and “Low Intensity Farming Operation” as discretionary uses to the UE – Urban Expansion District.
If Amending Bylaw #13-2022 is approved by Council, it would allow the cultivation of land, the growing and production of crops, the application of fertilizer, manure, herbicides, etc., as well as the time limited operation of Hobby Farms within the UE – Urban Expansion District.
If you or any group of citizens support or are opposed to the proposed amendments, please deliver a letter to the Town Office no later than Thursday, November 10, 2022, or verbally make a presentation at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
For more details, copies of Bylaw #22-2007 and proposed amending Bylaw #13-2022 are available for inspection at the Town office. For further information contact Laurie Skrynyk at 849-8019.
