Wednesday, October. 5, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.

Proposals shall remain irrevocable for a period of 90 days following the proposal closing date. The Town of Slave Lake reserves the right to reject without stating reasons any or all proposals that the Town of Slave Lake considers, in its sole and unfettered discretion, to not be in the Town of Slave Lake’s best interest.

 

By submitting its proposal, the proponent waives any right to contest in any legal proceeding or action the right of the Town of Slave Lake to negotiate with any proponent and to award the work without stating reasons to whomever the Town of Slave Lake deems, in its role and unfettered discretion, to have submitted the proposal most beneficial to the Town of Slave Lake.

 

Description:

The Town of Slave Lake (“the Town”) will be implementing a pilot project for snow removal for the 2022-2023 winter season.  The pilot will be carried out on ½ of the town with regular snow operations being conducted on the other.  The pilot will require a significant amount of contractor resources to assist with snow hauling, grading, and snow management at the lagoons during a snow clearing event.  It is anticipated that all snow clearing events for the pilot project will commence on a Monday and may take up to 3 days to complete.  Hours of operation will be 7:00am to 6:00pm during the snow clearing event.

The Town is requesting quotes from contractors for the following equipment for snow clearing events. Snow clearing events will be planned a minimum of 48 hours in advance and contractors who have committed to the program will be contacted to confirm participation. Snow will be hauled from the town to lagoons along Highway #88, approximately 2km each trip.  Trucks will be loaded by a snow blower to haul and offload. Graders will be blading ahead of the loader, building-up the windrow. Cat/dozer will be to push snow up at the lagoons as the trucks are dumping.
