[ARCHIVED] Notice to the Ratepayers of the Town of Slave Lake

Tax Notices

Notice to the Ratepayers of the Town of Slave Lake

The Town of Slave Lake mailed the Combined Assessment and Tax Notices on April 28, 2017

The due date for payment is June 30th, 2017.

As per Section 311 and 337 of the Municipal Government Act, all assessed persons are deemed to have received their assessments and tax notices 7 days after it is sent.  Failure to receive a tax notice is not a reason for non-payment of taxes.

The postmark will determine the date of payment or the date received at the banking agency.

If the payment is not received by the due date, a penalty will be applied.  Penalties are applied on July 1st (2% of the current year balance), August 1st (6% of the current year balance), October 1st (8% applied on current year balance), and January 1st of the following year (10% applied on year-end balance) for non-payment of taxes.

Assessment inquiries please contact the Assessor from KCL via their website and fill in the inquiry form, this ensures that the assessor gets all the required information. You can also call the numbers listed on the back of your Combined Assessment and Tax Notice.

If you do not receive your notice in the mail within a week of mailing, or if you have any questions or concerns regarding the notice you received, please contact the Tax Clerk at 780-849-8001.
