Election day for the upcoming Municipal Election will occur on October 18th, 2021 from 10am-8pm. Advanced voting will also be occurring on October 8th from 10am-4pm and October 9th from 10am-2pm. Voting for each day will take place at the Town of Slave Lake Council Chambers located at 10 Main Street SW.
In order to vote, you must live in the local jurisdiction and have one or more of the following forms of identification: Government issued photo ID card, utility bill, residential lease or mortgage statement, or another form of identification listed in the Voter Identification Requirements.

In addition to voting for 1 Mayor and 6 Councilors, electors will also cast ballots for Senate Nominations and 2 referendum questions under the Referendum Act. These questions are:
- Should section 36(2) of the constitution Act, 1982 - Parliament and the government of Canada’s commitment to the principle of making equalization payments be removed from the constitution?
- Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight-Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?
Masks will be mandatory when within the voting facility and 2m physical distancing will be in place. Poll Workers will be behind transparent plastic barriers. Hand sanitization will be in place and workstations and common touch surfaces will be sanitized throughout the day.
