The Town of Slave Lake encourages active lifestyles and supports organizations who help foster healthy choices. Many community groups will be holding events that involve walks and runs. In order to hold these vents the Town must coordinate, support and consult with Emergency Services and Town Administrative Staff to provide and ensure that property safety considerations are in place to these great events.
If you are planning a Special Event that involves a walk, run or marathon, please refer to the 6 pre-approved Running Routes. Select the Route that best suits your needs and then complete and submit a Special Event Development Permit Application form to the Town Office.
The Town also supports organizations who would like to hold other types of special events such as a fund raiser i.e. BBQ, Car Wash, Jail and Bail. The Town also supports business who want to hold a special event i.e. Sidewalk Sale, Tent Sale, etc. Before proceeding with your special event, please complete the Special Event Development Permit Application form and submit it to the Town.
Please ensure your application has been completed and submitted no later than two weeks before the event will take place.
