Slave Lake, AB – During the week of August 10th – 16th the Slave Lake RCMP received seventy nine (79) calls to service. Of these calls, traffic collisions, traffic violation and municipal bylaws were the most prevalent. The following are a sample of some of these calls:
August 10th, 2020 - Traffic Violations
While conducting traffic duties, the licence plate of a vehicle was queried and the registered owner of the vehicle had an expired drivers licence. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was the registered owner. A violation ticket was issued for $324.00.
August 11th, 2020 - Disturbing the Peace
The RCMP received a report of a loud house party in the Southeast quadrant of town in the early morning hours. The RCMP responded and witnessed four individuals having a backyard party with music playing. The homeowners were asked to turn the music down to which they agreed. No further complaints were filed that night.
August 11th, 2020 – Traffic Violations
While on patrol, the RCMP noticed a vehicle make a right turn at a red traffic light without coming to a complete stop. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was issued a violation ticket for $243.00.
August 15th, 2020 - Uttering Threats
The RCMP assisted a male collect his belongings from his residence after being bound by a release order to not return. During the escort, the male uttered threats of harm towards his family member and he was arrested again. The male was brought before a Justice of the Peace during a judicial interim release hearing and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court this month.
