The Home Ignition Zone shows how you can minimize your home and property’s vulnerability to wildland fire by addressing threats in each of the three priority zones, starting with the most vulnerable area, the Immediate Zone, and working your way outward. The Home Ignition Zone focuses on reducing opportunities for flame spread and removing points where embers can gather and ignite objects or buildings.
Depending on your lot size, you may be able to control only some of the zones listed above. It's important to incorporate FireSmart measures on your property, where possible, to reduce your risk of future wildfire damage.
