Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a partnership between the province, municipalities and Metis Settlements, and derives its mandate on a provincial level from the Family and Community Support Services Act and Regulation.
The program fosters a philosophy under which:
- Citizen participation, self-help and volunteerism are encouraged
- Communities can be innovative and creative
- Human growth and potential are enhanced
- Local people can influence things that affect them
Therefore, in partnership with the province, the Town of Slave Lake FCSS strives to develop locally driven preventive social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and community. We do this by offering a combination of organized programs and services, as well as, providing grants to eligible groups to become FCSS funded agencies.
