The Local Authorities Election Act specifies that a general election shall be held every 4th year.
The general Municipal Election will be held in the Town of Slave Lake on Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Town Council Chambers. This election will fill seven (7) seats; one for Mayor and six Councilors.
Electors will also cast ballots for Senate Nominations and 2 referendum questions under the Referendum Act. These questions are:
1. Should section 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982 - Parliament and the government of Canada's commitment to the principle of making equalization payments be removed from the constitution?
2. Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?

Nomination Hours The Returning Officer or designate will receive nominations of candidates for the local jurisdiction election during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, from January 4, 2021 to September 17, 2021 and on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. until Noon, at the Town of Slave Lake Government Centre (Town Office) Municipal Building located 10 Main Street S.W. Slave Lake, Alberta
At this time appointments are required to drop off or pick up anything regarding the Municipal Elections.
