Slave Lake RCMP Investigate a Suspicious Person

RCMP News Release (Summer)

Slave Lake, Alta. - On February 8th, 2020 the RCMP responded to a suspicious person sleeping inside the Multi Rec Center. Members attended the location and found the male suspect sleeping on a locker room bench. The Members woke the suspect awake and advised him he was under arrest for a theft from earlier this day.

The male resisted arrest, assaulted the Police Officers and attempted to disarm one of them of his taser.

Evan Clifford Brown of Slave Lake has been charged with two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of assaulting peace officers, one count of attempting to disarm a peace officer, theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. Following a judicial interim release hearing, he has been remanded into custody. Court was scheduled for February 12th, 2020.
