Slave Lake RCMP search for wanted male

RCMP News Release (Summer)

Slave Lake, Alta - The RCMP are currently searching for a male wanted on several outstanding warrants following an incident on May 12, 2019.  On May 12 at approximately 2:00 PM, RCMP were alerted to the whereabouts of an individual wanted on outstanding warrants for an armed robbery which took place on May 7 in Sucker Creek.  Upon arrival, police found that the suspect had fled the scene westbound on Highway 2.  The suspect vehicle turned onto Skrynyk Road near Widewater where it became stuck.  Occupants of the vehicle fled into the wooded area on foot.

Several police officers from the Slave Lake RCMP, High Prairie RCMP and the Lakeshore Regional Police converged on the area.  After a lengthy search using a police service dog, one individual surrendered while a second remains at large. 

Police continue to search for Nathaniel Joseph Carifelle (24).  Carifelle is considered armed and dangerous and is not to be approached.  He is wanted on outstanding warrants related to armed robbery. 

Investigation into this matter continues.  Slave Lake RCMP are asking the public's assistance for any information in relation to this incident or identifying those responsible.
