Slave Lake RCMP seek information regarding a theft

RCMP NEWS RELEASE

Slave Lake, Alta - On March 19, 2019 at approximately 10:00 PM, a male was sleeping in a wooded area near the pedestrian bridge across from the Canada Post Office when an unknown suspect approached.  The suspect reached into the sleeping man's pocket and stole a large sum of cash.  As the theft was taking place, the victim woke up and was assaulted by the suspect.  The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

The victim was unable to see the suspect but knew it was a male who was wearing a Calgary Flames baseball hat.

Slave Lake RCMP are asking the public's assistance for any information in relation to this incident or identifying those responsible.
