Slave Lake RCMP and the Rural Crime Reduction Unit lay drug trafficking charges
Slave Lake, Alberta - Three people have been charged following the execution of a search warrant in the Town of Slave Lake on June 7, 2018. Members of the Slave Lake Detachment and the Rural Crime Reduction Unit executed the search warrant and seized substances believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine. A total of six people were arrested at the residence.
As the search warrant was being executed at the residence, another subject involved in the investigation was arrested in the parking lot of the Royal Bank in Slave Lake.
"Intelligence gathering is a key pillar to crime reduction. Our members gather intelligence, utilize local knowledge and consider historical and current trends when assigning resources to target issues within our community" says S/Sgt John Spaans of the Slave Lake RCMP Detachment. "This targeted enforcement is aimed at making Slave Lake a safer community".
Vanessa Gladue (33) of Slave Lake has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts or failing to comply with conditions and a single count of driving while unauthorized.
Sheena Auger (26) of Slave Lake has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Clark Letendre (39) of Slave Lake has been charged with obstructing a police officer and failing to comply with conditions of release.
All three accused have been released from custody by a Justice of the Peace. Gladue and Auger are set to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on June 20, 2018 while Letendre is set to appear on June 13, 2018.
