The RCMP investigates suspicious fires in Slave Lake

RCMP NEWS RELEASE


Slave Lake, Alberta – The Slave Lake RCMP is investigating two suspicious fires taking place within the Town on May 23, 2018.  The first fire was reported shortly after 9:30 PM in the wooded area behind the Hotel Northern Star. The Lesser Slave Lake Regional Fire Service contained the fire to a small area with no structures being threatened.

A subsequent fire was reported at 10:50 PM.  The second fire was found in a shed behind a residence in the southwest.  This fire was also contained with no damage being caused to any residential structures. 

Investigation into these matters continue.  Investigators have yet to determine if the two fires are related; but, they are each being treated as suspicious.
