Slave Lake, AB – During the week of June 7th– 13th the Slave Lake RCMP received seventy four (74) calls to service. Of these calls, assaults, mischiefs, and traffic collisions were the most prevalent. The following are a sample of some of these calls:
June 10th, 2020 - Uninsured Motor Vehicle
The RCMP was conducting patrols and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that had a licence plate that did not match the vehicle. The Member requested his insurance documents which the driver did not have. A violation ticket was issued and the driver is scheduled to appear in court September 2020.
June 11th, 2020 - Damage to Property
The RCMP received a report of a damaged front door at the Thompson Landing apartments. Members attended and reviewed footage of the area. A male was seen on camera damaging the door by forcefully attempting to open it. The male was identified and arrested. He is scheduled to appear in court August 2020.
June 12th, 2020 – Impaired Operation of a MV
The RCMP received two report of a vehicle travelling on highway 2 towards Slave Lake driving erratically. The RCMP responded and located the vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver displayed evidence of impairment. She was arrested and release on court documents. She is scheduled to appear in court August 2020.
June 13th, 2020 - Assault
The RCMP received a report of an assault that took place in the NW quadrant of town. The victim advised she was pushed when she told her friend she would not drive to A&W. The RCMP responded and warned the assaulter of her actions and possible charges being laid. The victim also requested no further action on our part.
